Soccer fans looking to take in the 2026 World Cup will be able to apply for FIFA’s first ticket draw starting Sept. 10, soccer’s world governing body announced Tuesday in a release. FIFA did not say when the draw would take place for the tournament in Canada, the United States and Mexico, but said tickets would be released in phases. The pace of inflation sped up slightly in Canada to 1.9 per cent in the month of June, Statistics Canada said Tuesday. This comes after Statistics Canada said the pace of inflation held steady in May at 1.7 per cent. Fauja Singh, an Indian-born athlete who was believed to be the world’s oldest marathon runner, has died after being hit by a car. He was 114. Open water swimming at the World Aquatics Championships in Singapore has been postponed because of “water quality levels exceeding acceptable thresholds,” the governing body World Aquatics said in a statement.
